This letter is Andrew Carnegie writing to Hiram Hitchcock about the construction on Carnegie Hall. Hitchcock was an entrepreneur who was also involved in the building of Madison Square Garden. Carnegie was eager to begin construction on the new venue, offering Hitchcock only two weeks to finish their negotiations.
The picture on the right is in Carnegie's first steel company. As you can see there are children working and probably doing dangerous jobs that could be harmful. Its interesting to see how things differ in these times.
